Nigerian Man Calls On FG To caution Convoy Drivers On their Over speeding - After Witnessing, at Enugu

An accident involving a white Toyota Hilux with Government Plate number designated as PILOT occurred yesterday, Monday, 23rd October, 2017 around 6:15pm at Enugu - Port Harcourt Express Way very close Amechi Fly Over.

The said vehicle was on convoy with some other vehicles conveying some mobile police men and a foreigner "a white man" when the incident occurred. On approaching the scene of the accident, I discovered a lifeless body of a mobile police man. Also, I learnt that some injured victims were rushed to UNTH, Ituku-Ozalla.

Please, I wish to kindly appeal to your agency(FRSC) to constantly organize workshop/training for these set of drivers (Convoy drivers), to educate them on the dangers of reckless driving. It's a common knowledge that this particular portion of Enugu-PortHarcourt Express Way is in a sorry state. I began to wonder why a driver should drive recklessly to the point of endangering his life and that of other meaningful road users.

I urge you therefore to kindly do the needful to avert future occurrences. Also, I call on the listening FG to urgently come to our aid by working on this road and other death traps in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria. Thank you. A. O. Chikwendu Lecturer, Renaissance University, Enugu.
